Emerging American Artist, Piekarczyk, offers her viewers a peek into an extraordinary world of passion and emotion through her sweeping approach to strong forms and colors. Strongly influenced by the great colorists of the Fauvist period, Piekarczyk (pronounced 'paCARcheck') considers each creation on canvas as an opportunity to create a visual interpretation of the viewer's own recollections; each individual's own moments of elation, passion and success. Ispired from her travels around the world as well as special moments shared with friends and family, Piekarczyk's work evokes a series of uplifting moments that allows viewers to dance through a litany of their own memories. From imagery that reflects good times between friends to vibrant works reflecting the strength and love a family shares, it's obvious that the artist upholds the values and bonds of loved ones dearly. Born of Czechoslovakian descent, the Piekarczyk name is used as an homage to the artist's mother. An accomplished business womean and long-time patron of the arts, Piekarczyk has dabbled in art her entire life though it has been only in recent years that she has taken herself seriously as an artist. "One day I realized that both of my beautiful daughters were nearly grown. That realization prompted me to pick up a paint brush and dedicated my time to capturing many of the special moments that we've shared; a way to freeze a wonderful moment in time so that it can always be enjoyed. A native of sunny Florida, Piekarczyk has resided in southern Louisiana for 25 years with her husband and two daughters. "The exuberant culture and delicious foods of Louisiana create a stimulating and artistic environment in which to live. Regardless of where my travels take me, it is always a pleasure to return home and settle back in to the colorful lifestyle of New Orleans."  She is the featured artist for all publications regarding  FANFARE for 2005, Southeastern Louisiana University's annual festival of the arts in Hammond.
